Picture
In 2013, after meeting a birth family in China that was desperately looking for information on their biological daughter, we decided that a movement needed to form to collect DNA from birth families wherever they were found.  Thus, DNAConnect.Org was created to allow adoptive families to collect DNA from any birth families they meet on Heritage Trips, during birth parent searches, or whenever the opportunity presented itself.  In order for this project to succeed, we need the help from the adoption community.  There are three ways you can help make this a success.

Donate

As you know, it takes money to purchase kits and process the DNA that is collected.  If you are able to help fund the purchase of these kits, you will allow us to collect more samples.  We have  located more birth families than we have kits.  100% of your contribution goes to purchase DNA collection kits.

While we appreciate all donations (currently nondeductible), if you contribute $100 or more, you will be provided with the contact information of any birth parent match, no matter when it occurs, for free.

To make a one-time donation, click the highlighted link below. Or become a subscriber by making a $5, $10, or $25 monthly donation. We deeply appreciate any support!

Help Us Collect BP DNA

Before you travel to China, contact us for our DNA collection form. If you meet a birth parent, simply have them fill out the form, email us a digital photo of the completed form, and we will make arrangements to send someone to them to collect the DNA. In this way we as a community can make searching more efficient, and allow many more birth families to be matched.

Spread the Word

If you see someone announce that they have located a birth family, or will be traveling to China on a search trip, tell them to contact us. We can save the family time, money, and valuable resources, and provide a centralized DNA storage data bank that will be useful years and years from now.  Who knows? One day the match may be for you!!
